Pros

Impactful mission - The org's commitment to combatting hate and harassment, in a really beautiful, empowering way, makes every day feel purposeful. Supportive environment - Colleagues and leadership are actively leaning into a collaborative and inclusive culture, where contributions are valued. There is tangible support, accountability, and solid HR and management practices that center the humans at work. They offer home office stipends and self-care stipends, as well as meaningful benefits like Summer Fridays. Growth opportunities - Opportunities for professional development, mentoring, and skill-building are offered and encouraged. Flexible work arrangements - The org recognizes the importance of work-life balance and offers flexible schedules, and understands how to work with a remote team. Transparent communication - Open communication channels, regular feedback (up, down, and across), and commitment to intersectionality of ideas, identities, and opinions, with lots of human-centered design practices and discussions.

Cons

Work-Life Integration Challenges: The meaningful nature of the mission and the passion of the team sometimes make it challenging to me personally to maintain balance between dedication to the mission and personal well-being. (I'm improving in this area, in part because of the team's support and transparency around this challenge.)

Pros

Anti-harassment work brings unique challenges and everyone on the team is great about offering someone support and just generally checking in about well-being.

Cons

Anti-harassment work while inspiring can also be depleting. Maintaining a healthy work/life balance when tackling issues of racism, sexism, and homophobia on a daily basis is at times a challenge.

Pros

Staff who worked there were great. The culture is aspirational with many supportive benefits such as professional development stipends. Many opportunities to connect with staff and have "fun" at work even in a remote environment.

Cons

They haven't clearly outlined how to measure the impact of their work or the strategic direction needed to make a vision-aligned impact. The "culture cons" have been adequately outlined in other reviews.
