Pros

The product fit is good

Cons

Where do I start? This place talks a huge game about caring for customers and partners, but that energy doesn't exist for employees at all. It's new revenue at all costs; nobody cares about the relationships you already built or the people managing them. People get let go out of nowhere, no PIP, no real conversation, just gone. I've seen people crying in the bathroom, burnout is not an exaggeration here.... It's the epitome of bro culture. The culture rewards the people who nod along and don't push back. Speak up or disagree with leadership, and you're suddenly a problem. It's not a merit thing; it's a loyalty thing. Don't work here if you want to be creative or drive real impact; they only really listen to a handful of leaders who are, frankly, toxic. Unless you're totally fine shutting up and being a robot, look elsewhere.

Pros

I love the team I work with, and the work-life balance is great. I've learned a lot while building impactful products. The culture is warm and emphasizes gratitude. I wasn't sure accounting would be an interesting domain to build software for, but it's turned out to be surprisingly engaging. I've worked at a lot of startups, and this has been one of the best experiences I've had so far.

Cons

Comp is good, but not great.

Pros

Rillet is growing quickly, and the talent density is genuinely high. People are smart, low ego, and willing to help, and there's a lot of ownership from day one. The pace is real, every month seems to be another record month, but if you like building and having an outsized impact, it's a great place to be. Over the past few months, leadership has done a much better job of sharing context around company priorities and direction, making it easier to understand how your work fits into the bigger picture. Being founder-led also means decisions happen quickly, leadership is accessible, and good ideas don't get buried in layers of process. Our founder is refreshingly transparent, sets a high bar, and manages to balance ambition with kindness. As we've grown, we've also become more intentional about celebrating wins, even the small ones. The team is diverse in backgrounds and perspectives, and I've built real friendships here, which isn't something I've experienced at every company.

Cons

The company has scaled really quickly, and like most startups at this stage, the business has outgrown some of its processes. There have definitely been growing pains, but nothing that feels unusual for a high-growth AI company. Leadership has been a mix of seasoned operators and first-time leaders, though the additions over the past few months have noticeably improved communication, alignment, and execution. The pace is demanding, and there are definitely periods where you'll work long hours. That said, compared to many Bay Area startups, I've found the company to be relatively flexible. It's hybrid rather than fully in-office, and people are generally trusted to manage their time. I'd also love to see feedback and career expectations become more consistent. Most departures haven't been surprising, but more frequent, direct feedback would help people better understand where they stand before bigger decisions are made.
