Pros
Really great experience for recent graduates or current college students. An amazing opportunity to learn about leadership and the life experiences of the youth you'll be leading and the community you'll be serving. You'll receive extensive, carefully crafted training, for which you'll get paid at more than competitive rates. The program is very well organized and led by caring and dedicated staff.
Cons
You'll be working for a non-profit with a challenging goal of focusing not only on ways to address climate change practically but also aiming to lift disadvantaged communities at the same time. This work is not always well perceived or trusted by the communities this non-profit serves. It will also be a challenging job not only in scope, but as a summer program, you'll usually find yourself working against the heat.
