Pros
A typical workday at Riverstone Communities starts with reviewing emails and preparing for the day, with team meetings regularly scheduled on Tuesdays and Thursdays. My role involves constant interaction with both residents and team members, focusing on core responsibilities such as resolving tenant issues, conducting move-ins and property inspections, ensuring curb appeal, and collecting rent payments.
Working here has truly reinforced the importance of teamwork and effectively utilizing the numerous resources available for personal and professional growth. The workplace culture is outstanding. We have a comfortable, professional dress code, I wear our Riverstone apparel daily, and the entire team, from the corporate office to the maintenance staff, is easily accessible via Google Chat. There are no egos; just a company full of team members willing to help one another at any given moment.
Riverstone genuinely invests in its employees. Promotions are typically internal, and we have seen individuals start in a Maintenance I position and quickly advance to Property Manager or even Area Manager roles. This upward mobility, relative to the industry, is a testament to the company’s process driven nature. Everything we do has a clear, step-by-step process available, complete with visual guides to follow along on screen. In addition, online courses are provided to refresh our knowledge and stay informed of current and future industry changes. While the resources and opportunities for advancement are frequent, each employee is responsible for taking charge of their own training and being prepared when the time comes.
Each year, Riverstone hosts a Managers Conference and a Maintenance Conference. These events are fantastic opportunities to network with colleagues across the country, participate in various training activities, and simply enjoy time spent together.
The most enjoyable part of this job is the ability to truly make a difference in our residents' lives. Riverstone supports each individual community, and this is backed by leadership that genuinely cares and will go above and beyond to help their employees succeed. Paid time off and work life balance, is amazing.
Cons
While there is always room for growth in any organization, compared to my previous experiences, Riverstone has virtually no drawbacks to speak of.
