Owner doesn’t like people who speak up - Anonymous employee Rize Bikes Employee Review

- Working for a "start - up" company - Days are always busy and there is always something to do - Can borrow showroom bikes for personal use - Connecting with the e-bike community

- Little to no discount for the bikes. You need to borrow from the showroom. (unheard of, since most if not all e-bike companies give their employees a free bike during their tenure) - Late pay cheques - Terrible commission structure. The owner will promise commission and bonus kickbacks, but will always have an excuse as to why commission isn't given out that month or for the miniscule amount that was nothing close to what they promised in an interview. - Measurements of success were determined by the amount of positive google reviews ; not by normal KPIs. If you don't get a good review or a review at all the owner will shame you and give you a "black dot" in his records. - Homophobia and racism is RAMPANT from the owner - Favoritism - Massive cost cutting mentality, always blames the customer for obvious manufacturer defect - Owner does not like to hear any other ideas except their own. They'll think your idea is subpar. - Owner will talk about terrible things behind an employee's back to another employee - You will never be paid overtime, but you are pressured to stay in to "get a checkmark" from the owner. - You are expected to work STAT holidays and you MUST remind the owner of the stat holiday, otherwise they will not pay you time and a half - You job is never secure here. The owner is known to fire anyone at anytime for a reason such as speaking up about the timely payment for commission to the sales staff or speaking up about the terrible treatment of the employees. Owner is also known to wait till the end of the week at the end of the day to fire employees to make sure all the work is done before you're let go. Owner is also known to fire via E-Mail at 11:00pm on Friday. - No appreciation from the owner - Good luck getting your T4 during tax season!
