Pros

Not all are bad - there are some truly awesome people who work there. But in my personal experience, those people are mainly contractors, not RG&E employees.

Cons

Absolutely terrible management. I've worked with and for RG&E/NYSEG for years now, and it's not what it used to be. I can't begin to explain how badly RG&E employees treat contract workers, they will make your life a living hell. "Management" is an absolute joke, not all, but most are simply people in positions of power because they've been there for ages or they're buddy-buddy with someone higher up, in positions of power when they don't deserve it all. They have no idea what they're really doing and will throw you under the bus in a heartbeat and think nothing of it.

Pros

GREAT! benefits. employer matches 150% up to 8% contribution. 160 hours of pto year 1, with 40 hr for floating holidays.

Cons

If you show you are capable, two things will happen: You will be noticed by those higher up, and you will be given as much work as you can handle. This begins the issue of your PEERs trying to assassinate your career. They want to maintain the status quo at all costs.
