Pros

RocketMill has been built around highly intelligent individuals who are all experts within their specialist fields – be that creative, data, media or SEO – presenting significant opportunities for the team to learn, develop and grow their careers.

Cons

Don’t be fooled by the “People first” strapline because it simply isn’t true - but then again, no company is! Like every other business, RocketMill is profit first and as a result, not all line managers have a desire to serve their teams and be transparent with them.

It's true that all businesses must balance commercial success with other objectives. Without the commercial success we cannot invest in other areas such as our culture and people. As a member of the senior leadership team I can assure you that People First is at the core to the agency. It is both literal, when we talk about you all at the start of leadership/Board meetings, and it's all encompassing as we frame every significant decision around it's impact on our culture. If you feel we have failed in any way then I'd love to talk it through, learn from it and put it right. We all want to improve the agency, realise we can always do better, and invite you to be a critical friend. We want to help, let's talk, no judgement - promise.

Pros

Smart and friendly colleagues. Good socials. Fun CEO.

Cons

The company has a culture where favouritism runs rampant and is not based on skills or merit. Rules are inconsistently applied, benefiting those who are favoured. I had to endure the worst manager/director I've ever encountered. She was perpetually confused, frequently blamed her errors on me, gaslighted me, and falsely accused me of lying to cover her mistakes. She deliberately withheld opportunities and critical information from me, micromanaged my work, kept cancelling meetings and provided opaque feedback. This created an extremely toxic and stressful environment, leading to errors. While she faced no consequences for her actions, I was repeatedly punished. The company's "people first" and mental health focus appears to be nothing more than PR rhetoric. I was let down.
