Pros
Its products still have good market share, but that is only in US market
Cons
This is a workplace that "who you know" matters way more than your performance - I know 4 cases of promotion very well, 100% of them is NOT based on merit, meaning: there were internal candidates who were interested that were more qualified & experienced but the hiring managers just picked the people she/he knew. So you see some people fast tracking and their career trajectory doesn't make sense (jumping around and up quick) ; some people just got stuck for years - HR has no say or no interest in making the hiring process better. I say this because I have seen several cases of hiring manager skipping the interview process entirely and just went ahead and hire the person he/she liked Picking someone they know rather than picking a person with the right qualification reflects the culture: - narrow vision - risk averse When applying this to its business decision, this company has two unique tendency: 1. business decisions driven by loud & big customers, not by market trend (narrow vision) 2. complacency of status quo. It'd rather be behind the market than coming up with a better product to cannibalize itself (risk averse) - During covid time, we got 7.5% pay cut (leadership with more, but they have stock options) - Stock dividend wasn't impacted at all (i think it even got increased instead, but not too sure)
