Pros

Free Lunch & Snacks Cool Coworkers Swag Challenging Work/Projects

Cons

1) Terrible transparency from senior leadership. Everything is discussed behind closed doors but not communicated to the actual team in a timely fashion. Definitely a bit of a boys club at the top. The many elephants in the room are never actually discussed. 2) If you’re interested in career progression, this is not the place for you. You are consistently undervalued and under leveled. You could be on the same level (salary) as someone with half your experience and expertise and have to consistently prove why you deserve promotions. Promotion opportunities are highlighted as a positive in the interview process, but are actually extremely hard to get. If you’re not “in” with the leaders of your team, don’t even think about getting promoted before 2 years of employment . You can write a 10 page essay on all of your accomplishments and projects you’ve worked on stating why you deserve a specific promotion, but it doesn’t matter if leadership doesn’t find your role “impactful”. Leadership only finds out how impactful these roles are once people are fed up and decide to pursue better working conditions. Expectations here are extremely high and never actually match your role. Then you are expected to continuously take on more while never actually getting what you deserve. 3) What started off as a good working environment has turned into a toxic work place culture. You are praised for working long nights and weekends. If you’re not going to sleep thinking about how to improve your job, then you’re not valued as a “good employee”. If you value your mental health please look elsewhere!

Pros

The paycheck was on time. The infrastructure didn't get in my way technically.

Cons

•Ideas I brought up in meetings were routinely dismissed, only to see the exact same ideas approved weeks later when repeated by someone within the inner circle. •Meaningful projects consistently went to those already tied into the right connections, and it was clear capability had little to do with it. •Real mentorship and guidance existed, but it happened in closed conversations I was never part of, while others received constant support from senior engineers. •Key decisions were made in small informal groups, and I would only learn about them after everything had already been decided. •I was repeatedly assigned lower visibility infrastructure work while others were given opportunities to grow through impactful projects.
