Pros

You bite the hand that feeds you by treating your contractors so poorly. Stop offering performance bonuses to office staff at the sacrifice of your installers

Cons

Pay for contractors suck, they are totally lining their pockets. The shop I work at has several illegals who I’ve worked with over the years at other stores. Ones a deported convicted sex offender, the other is a deported drug mule. Romanoff and management doesn’t care though. These guys fake background checks and don’t pay taxes. They usually use a legal contractors license and pay them a fee every week. It’s the most corrupt place I’ve ever contracted for.

While no company is perfect, at Romanoff, we do take pride in the steps that we take to ensure the safety and security of our employees, contractors, and customers. Every individual who is associated with Romanoff, whether employed or contracted must go through an extensive background process in order to obtain a badge that he or she must show at our office and at each jobsite. This background check includes criminal, sex offender, and social security checks. In addition, we follow the licensing and regulatory laws for each state where we operate. Our associates are encouraged to bring forth any misconduct that they see or hear about and we have a regulatory compliance team that conducts regular audits of our field offices and job sites to ensure background and licensing requirements are being met. When we consider contractor pay, several times each year, we research the local and national markets to determine the proper rate of pay by install type. As warranted, we make the necessary local adjustments. We have many contractors who have contracted with us for over a decade and we look forward to continuing those partnerships and forming new relationships over the coming years.

Pros

Coworkers were the best, technology was easy to use and the remote work was a must.

Cons

Micromanagement in the end wasn't appreciated or necessary but appeared to be a tactic by management to force departure.

Pros

Total compensation as a W-2 employee is competitive. The CEO actually puts an emphasis on making sure employees are taken care of in this realm and can maintain a healthy work-life balance. Weeks are typically 40-45 hour weeks if everything in the office in running smoothly. Some travel abilities depending on position. Almost everybody who works for the company genuinely cares about both the company and the people. Numerous people you could look to for professional mentorship that would be willing to help.

Cons

Nation-wide company with small and sometimes isolated locations. Limited staff at each location. Little room for upward positional growth (unless you are patient and really stand-out in your job). Upper management does a good job of listening to issues and attempting to help, but nothing really gets done or accomplished until issues start to affect them. Biggest con is the pay for their 1099 contractors. They are below market average in almost all areas (sometimes way below) and there is no emphasis to try to improve this. Creates real issues with production because you are running on limited, low-end contractors.
