Pros
One of the first things I asked during the interview process was whether all of these five star reviews were real (it seemed too good to be true!) - to which I was told they are! Now that I have been on the team for over a year, I can honestly say it's by far the best place I have ever worked. Communication & transparency - We're all kept very much in the loop about what is happening with the company. From weekly global team meetings, to slack channels based on any topic you can think of - it's very easy to get your questions answered. The leadership/management teams are very down to earth and approachable as well, and they keep an open door policy. On top of this, everyone I've ever come across is lovely, genuine and helpful. Teamwork - I've never worked somewhere where everyone works so hard towards the same goals. What we need to accomplish is made very clear, and we are given the tools and resources to get it done. You have two review cycles a year, so you're never left wondering if you're doing things right. Autonomy - We're very trusted to get our jobs done. Flexible hours have been great, and I have never felt micromanaged, we're always encouraged to problem solve, experiment and get our projects over the line in any way we feel is best. Recognition & appreciation - This is the first company I've ever worked for that has so many different ways to recognise people's achievements - we shout each other out in meetings, on LinkedIn, in Slack channels and more. On top of this, all promotions and big wins are announced in person at our team events, where we all celebrate! Team events - We meet up twice a year in person in Europe for a week - it's a mix of education, goal-setting, team building, and celebration, and both weeks I've went so far have been very memorable. Before I worked for this company, I'd never traveled to Europe, and since working at RoomPriceGenie, I've visited eight new countries! I've made genuine connections with teammates from all over the world and can genuinely say it's made us stronger as a team.
Cons
This isn't necessarily a con, but things move pretty quickly and sometimes processes change. This is not a company where your role looks the same day after day, everything evolves over time. You need to be pretty self-motivated to thrive here. If you do well with time management and managing yourself, you will love it.
