Pros
The main pro was that the workplace was that my essential job duties reflected my job title.
Cons
Ross Industrial fails to adhere to OSHA regulations; this includes employees not conforming to wear the proper PPE to perform their job duties, Ross Industrial management refusing to provide provisions such as necessary PPE to perform job duties, and failing to address and take action upon multiple safety violations. For instance, the reason I left the company was due to the fact that during our team meeting, I acknowledged a safety violation: no welding curtains were placed to mitigate arc flash. I was welding next to 2-3 other people, and across the shop were other welders just welding out in the open. No provisions were in place to avoid arc flash, and that was a major safety concern of mine. All three team leaders failed to acknowledge this, failed to provide appropriate PPE to better avoid welder arc flash, and continued to ignore other safety and quality issues as well by dismissing the situation and saying "we'll look into it." According to several other employees, they had "looked into it" months and months prior and never did anything to improve workplace safety. In addition, they use frayed straps to carry multi-ton weight (I-Beams) instead of the proper chain links to ensure safety. Terrible working conditions.
