Pros

The industry is incredible for anyone looking to diversify his/her experience in his/her field. One is able to be a part of a team constructing major arterial highway systems, major commercial projects, major industrial projects, all the way to marine work. I truly believe Matt Ryan is the man to fix the company, but he has to sever ties with those that are bringing the company down (in management).

Cons

Where do I start? Technicians are over worked, under paid, and not valued. Project Managers struggle to win work due to corporate legal concerns. You’ll hear “don’t pursue that” more than anything. Well, how do you want them to win work? Senior management is a struggle. Those of us that haven’t been a part of S&ME for the last 30 years understand that changes need to occur. Unfortunately there is little “power” to make these changes. The C-Suite personnel do not convey the truth to Matt. He’s doing the best he can with the information provided. I don’t believe that there are individuals that are intentionally trying to bring the company down. I just believe that there are several individuals that are still living in the 1980s.

Pros

The Raleigh office is a tight knit group. Really great technicians who complete their work effectively and efficiently, and are more than willing to help train newer technicians.

Cons

Schedule may be sporadic and they may have you at a different site everyday.
