Great work done overall, but definitely SEVERAL flaws - Fellow (Tutor) SAGA Education Employee Review

Pros

Students are amazing to work with, resources are very effective with regard to curriculum, and if you are truly passionate about this type of work (if your heart is really invested) you will be in a position to have an extremely rewarding experience. Also this is an extremely heavy feedback culture so if you appreciate constant feedback both positive and critical, it can be an opportunity for growth.

Cons

Very disorganized as a company, salary/stipend is extremely low for fellows (as it is marketed as a gap year) where there is a large disparity for the next position salary (at least a $30k difference) when the real work with the students is done by the tutoring fellows. There tends to be a white savior complex with a lot of the staff of the organization and the fellows that are hired which has proven to be detrimental in some situations.

Pros

- They care about the gaps in students' understanding of math - They have a wide variety of resources - Their teaching platform is complete with all the resources to help tutors teach - They make expectations clear for tutors - The staff care about the personal and professional growth of the fellows

Cons

Not much, as long as you take the opportunities being presented to you and pave your own way.

Pros

Great work culture if you are non-tutor staff. Provides evidence based programming.

Cons

- Limited upward mobility - There are constant layoffs and reduction in workforce -Incomplete data systems to the point programs staff have to do a lot of backup administrative tasks -No performance based financial incentives -Extremely glitched virtual platform that causes disruptions to student learning on a weekly basis
