Pros
1. Extremely sharp peer group and leadership while being extremely humble about their achievements
2. "Sincere but not serious" office culture with a genuine warmth in interpersonal relationships
3. Tremendous opportunity for personal growth and a solid training ground for somebody who wants to learn investing
4. Clear sense of direction and purpose of the firm, shared and endorsed by all employees
5. Attractive, transparent and fair compensation plan
6. Senior leadership's genuine interest in professional growth of junior team members
Because of all of the above, my 2 year pre-mba stint as an Analyst was the most interesting, intellectually rewarding and personally fulfilling experience.
Cons
1. Pre-MBA analysts not encouraged to travel for outstation meetings. (More due to role definition than cost control)
