Pros

* Working for a good cause

Cons

* No induction, support, or training given when beginning in a new role * Leadership are dismissive and uncaring about the burn out culture that exists across the organisation * Pay is poor compared to other similar roles within the sector * CEO is chaotic and condescending * Extremely poor change management * Procedures and workload expectations constantly changing * Constant restructures aimed at making particular people rather than roles redundant * The vast majority of employees seem to leave the organisation much worse off than when they entered it

Pros

Supportive colleagues and meaningful work within the team environment.

Cons

Expectations regarding workload and opportunities were at times implied during team discussions, only for arrangements to later change with limited clarification or staff consultation. Decision-making processes often appeared one-sided, contributing to uncertainty around role stability and workforce planning. Expect a lot of changes and not in a good way.

Pros

The ability to work with some of the best Counsellors, Peer Support Workers and Mental Health Support Workers around. Working with a wide range of complex mental health issues

Cons

Where do I start. Pretty bad to be over capacity for over 12 months to increase KPI’s so the organisation can win govt funding through a tender, then once tender is won force the frontline staff to put in an Expression of Interest for the job they have been doing, with some staff having been there up to 3 years. Then having to go through extensive interviews, answering Key Selection Criteria and waiting over 3 weeks to be told they don’t have a role and you finish with 2 weeks notice, at Christmas time. Around 20 Counsellors and Peer Support Workers have quit in the past 2 years alone due to the toxic culture that comes from the corporate side of the organisation. After making the frontline staff jump through hoops to try and get a role only to not get offered one without a reason, they then send out a Christmas Party invite to celebrate the year. Talk about being tone deaf! Absolutely the worst organisation I’ve ever worked for, and has totally put me off ever working for a Not for Profit ever again.
