Pros

- Retirement plan is awesome. 35 years of service and you get 70% of the average of your 5 best years. - No university degree required, only cégep. The best way to get this job is to start as a part timer and then go through the "replacement director" program where are almost doing an internship and getting 22$/hour... You replace manager's when they are on vacation and learn pretty much everything. After two years without any degree related to managing, you can hired full time. -amazing insurance - really good starting salary for no degree - opportunity to get a 10% bonus - stores typically open at 10. So you can get up late

Cons

- Schedule is Tuesday to Saturday. Say goodbye to Friday nights! But at least you have a day off where everybody works! (Monday) - collective bargaining agreement is a football playbook. So many rules to follow and union plays dirty. There is little respect between both party's so sometimes work conditions can be emotionally demanding - Depending on your store, you might have such little hours to play with, and you are heavily reliant on customer satisfaction, so it's hard to deliver based on the amount of hours given to us. -pretty political - work hours finish at 6p tue-wed-thu 9pm on Fri and 5:30pm on Saturday. Hard to hang out with family and friends when you finish so late all the time. It's possible, but hard to maintain the work and the life
