Pros

Pay is good to start, but it’s more of a lure to get you in the door. Once you’re in, getting a promotion is very difficult due to limited opportunities. I’ve seen very limited movement for anyone in 8 years so you’ll need to be happy with the pay offered for the next ten years if you’re planning to come here long term.

Cons

The new CEO cut the claims budget to nearly zero this year. You will be irrelevant in the claims world and not able to ever attend any insurance claim conferences. The other parts of the company didn’t have budget cuts and you’ll hear about them attending cocktail parties and dinners in out of town cities. The “holiday” party was hilarious as claims people had to leach on to underwriters, pricing etc to get drinks or Uber rides that they easily expensed. It was so much fun to be thinking about expenses at the Xmas party while everyone else just had a good time. Claims is clearly not appreciated and I’d expect things to get worse as claims people will inevitably become disgruntled. Do not come here if you want to grow your career in claims.

Pros

Flexible Work from home only for employees in Charlotte office.

Cons

New compensation structure is confusing and not fair. Does HR know how it works?
