Pros

Good benefits package. Opportunity to wear multiple hats and gain experience quickly. Fast-paced environment with exposure to many areas of the business. Coworkers at the individual contributor level were supportive and hardworking. The new facility is clean and modern.

Cons

SDC had tremendous potential, but the company has struggled with consistent direction and long-term strategy. Frequent leadership changes and shifting priorities have created uncertainty across the organization. Critical positions have been eliminated while other leadership roles have remained in place despite ongoing challenges. The decision-making process often appears inconsistent, making it difficult to understand the company's priorities. Since the private equity acquisition, the culture has become increasingly political, with a stronger focus on financial outcomes than on employees or sustainable growth. Morale has noticeably declined, and many talented people have left or been let go. There are still dedicated employees who genuinely care about the company's success, but they deserve clearer leadership, greater transparency, and a more consistent vision for the future.

Pros

At SDC Nutrition, we value transparency and empower our employees to be creative and innovative. We enrich our employees with skill sets, experiences and we build upon their strengths and talents. All employees have a clear path at SDC Nutrition – We offer an environment where our employees can grow and thrive, we are understanding of work life balance and encourage our team to reach their highest potential. We value their observations, open communication and motivation. Our employees drive our innovation daily and lead our industry in quality and service. I personally have enjoyed my career at SDC nutrition, not only in marketing, but as a team member on the production line, packing orders in shipping, and now leading our sales department. In 2019, it’s been exciting to get out of my comfort zone to begin a new path encouraging women to overcome their fears and to keep moving forward via my podcast channel. I am absolutely loving the ability to connect and learn from so many other female entrepreneurs.

Cons

The coffee in the offices is less than par, but I get to enjoy a coffee break with a few teammates, so that makes up for it :)

Pros

Its been an amazing year at SDC Nutrition where I have had an opportunity to rebrand the company overall, launch multiple new marketing initiatives, attend conferences all over the world, grow my network within the industry, and most importantly increase my clout in the consumer packaged goods (cpg) industry! I am grateful for the guidance and growth that I have received as a result of one on one time with Sean Marszalek, the CEO. I can honestly say that every idea I have presented to the executive management team has been received with positivity and the results are clearly shown in the corporate culture embracing innovation and transparency.

Cons

The biggest adjustment to moving to Pittsburgh has been the weather, but I guess this isn't something that SDC can control.
