Pros

The only real value came from the people I worked alongside. Lower level employees were insanely talented and genuinely supportive. Trauma bonded for life!

Cons

Like many others, I was excited to join a company that looked innovative and fast-paced. What I walked into instead was chaos, control, and constant drama. The company is led by a CEO who thrives on fear and manipulation. Her leadership style is rooted in ego, obsessed with the image of being a CEO, with no understanding of how to actually lead people with respect or integrity. There is a reason the entire company turns over year after year. You’ll give everything you have: your time, your energy, your peace, and it still won’t be enough. There is zero work-life balance. You’re expected to be available at all times, with no boundaries and no appreciation. You’ll be made to feel disposable, no matter how hard you work. Need to note that employees were routinely pressured or incentivized to leave glowing reviews. The one-star reviews are the only place that former employees can speak honestly, without fear of retaliation. They’re written by people who took a chance on this company, gave it their all, and were ultimately dismissed and broken down.

Pros

Set Active was a fast-paced and creatively challenging environment where I gained meaningful experience managing social media, collaborating with influencers, and contributing to brand strategy. The brand has a strong voice and a dedicated community, which made the work engaging. It’s a place where you can grow quickly if you’re self-driven and adaptable, especially if you’re passionate about social media and brand building.

Cons

That said, the pace can be intense and priorities shift often. I’ve seen some of the negative posts about leadership, and while I understand that not every experience is the same, I think it’s important to remember there are two sides to every story. In my experience, leadership wasn’t what it’s often portrayed to be by upset former employees. Like any successful company, there were high expectations and moments of pressure, but I didn’t feel mistreated or unsupported.
