Pros
-Autonomy: Management puts a lot of trust in you to do your job. Your ideas are welcomed and respected. Very flexible work hours with a low-pressure friendly atmosphere.
-Exposure to all facets of the business. As a great start-up company, Shortcuts gives everyone in the workplace a chance to influence the product/company. Sales dept has a respected voice in the development of the product, the customer on-boarding process, as well as support methodology. No role is one dimensional. Support reps will learn sales dialogue, sales reps learn about software development and commercialization. This exposure and experience is in-valuable and very hard to come by these days.
Very generous travel budget. Choose your flights, hotels, flexible spending on work trips where hours are long.
This is also a very family focused environment. Management is extremely friendly about employees with children, allowing them to make sure their families are a priority.
Family atmosphere: You get to build a personal relationship with all of your colleague (if you choose to). A lot of company happy hours, and most importantly, lots of laughs during the workday. I probably completed more practical jokes than work related tasks, but it was always welcomed and encouraged by my manager as culture was just as important as work output. There is very low turn-over, with a majority of the office having 5+ years in the organization. This is a testament to culture and environment
Cons
In any start up environment with no outside funding, there is some instability and direction. Unless you have a 'go with the flow' mentality, this can be tough sometimes, but exhilarating at the same time
