I would like to know if there is anywhere in Indiana where you are considered scheduled to work, but when you arrive they write your name in a notebook, then after counting how many workers they actually need, they decide who gets to stay and who has to go home, even though you already left your house and your family believes you went to work. Can that really be called a job?
At that point, why not just call it “cash for work”? Because honestly, that structure feels more like day labor than stable employment.
Cons
No guaranteed hours
Unstable schedule
Workers are sent home without notice
No respect for employees’ time
Financial instability
Feels more like day labor than real employment
