Pros

I loved working for SJC. The 5 years I spent there were some of the best and most developmental in my career thus far. I made a lot of great friends and connections during my time there and gained the knowledge and skills to take me onto the next adventure.

Cons

None - it's a small company so we all wore many hats, but that added to the experience and learning.

Pros

Working for a company with a loyal following.

Cons

I had high hopes for this company. Unfortunately management overworks the employees without reasonable pay. After speaking to past coworkers, the employees AND contractors are either not getting paid at all, not paid a sustainable wage or not paid on what was prior agreed upon. They offer discounts on product in response to this being brought up. Working 2-3 people's jobs for pay that’s less than the minimum wage isn’t desirable. I can clock in and out at a retail or food service job for more money with less time put in. Taking into consideration how much less stress that would be as well. Management isn’t clear with direction and punishes their team for not reading their minds. The image they want to project isn't a reality of how the business is run. I’ve seen how poorly other workers have been treated there. Management has fired the founder's mother and brother (the namesake of the company) off and on for years. The company calls their consumers the SJC family but treats their own poorly. You can call your workers and your audience family as an excuse to overcharge, underpay and mistreat them. An unfortunate reality. Management verbally informed us that we are not allowed to speak to other workers in the company about our wages, even though that's illegal in the state of MA. I recommend staying away from here for your sanity’s sake.
