Pros

-Amount of time off was great -Really switched on middle management and staff

Cons

Everything else - the Executive leaders are completely incompetent. When the CEO Neil Gaydon and CTO Warren Barkley took over 4 years ago, everyone was excited to have people who had good looking resumes...that did nothing to help the fortune of the company, in fact I would question those resumes because they are incompetent. Over their time, the share price dropped to a low of 20 cents (the IPO was $17 six years ago), revenues declined, decisions made to get out of certain products/ markets too soon and launching the disastrous kapp board which almost bankrupted the company and was an utter failure, resulted in the company losing focus from improving existing products and innovating. Last I heard, they continue to have jobs. Staff hated them and have no respect for those two, as they treat staff horribly, and under their watch have seen now hundreds of departures. Their mandate was to turn the company around, they sure did but in the wrong direction. Complete failures in their roles.

Pros

SMART is a unique company that genuinely cares about its people. It is rare to find an organization that prioritizes employee well-being while fostering authentic human connections and a strong sense of community. The company is evolving, and with evolution comes change. While some may view that negatively, I see it as evidence of progress. The recent addition of new leaders has brought fresh perspectives, renewed energy, greater transparency, and a clearer sense of direction. Together, these changes are helping SMART build an even stronger future.

Cons

Things are sometimes moving too slow. Make faster decisions, especially in products, be more ambitious.
