Pros

I can't underscore the great group that worked at Sol before its eventual downfall. Even in the typical startup environment where it's a train always on the hairy edge of going off the track, the people always did their best to deliver top notch branding and product.

Cons

The three headed monster of founders that, which turned to two, then one lead monster. No pun intended for that person's tie to another company. A company that was one of the fastest rising in consumer audio very quickly crashed and burned due to not following basic business principals. It's sad to see something that people put so much effort in to was thrown away.

Pros

My experience with SOL REPUBLIC was fantastic. I was able to interact with the founders of the company when the team was about 20 people. I had the chance to work on projects that had a direct impact on the company marketing strategy.

Cons

It would have been great to have had the chance to execute on the marketing projects we worked on.

Pros

Interesting space with a product has a lot of potential For the most part great people to work with and good culture Good relationship with fans and users that are extremely loyal Get to partner and work with large brands and cool companies Depending on the role lots of opportunity for owning and creating new projects

Cons

Management team with varied agendas could never agree and were constantly pulled in different directions and flip-flopping Two teams in different cities with very different views and experiences caused conflict and lots of inefficiencies Poor understanding of how to build a start-up company environment and proper incentives - hid information about stock value and provided no opportunity to get more equity or better compensation for longer tenure. Terrible at holding relationships with outside vendors because budgets constantly were cut
