Young company, really great people and technologically advanced

Cons

Big reliance on a single client for income so when market shifts, it creates uncertainty in the company

Pros

Friendly intelligent collaborative co-workers--the number one requirement. And what they say is true: you do work on projects with other big interesting important companies.

Cons

Minor con: much of the workforce is in South Africa, so if you're in the Pacific timezone, meetings are heavy on early mornings. Not a big deal in my opinion

Pros

There is no pros, just open contract.

Cons

If you are coming from a well-established or reputed organization, I would suggest avoiding this company. Most of the work is project-based, and contracts can be terminated without enough notice. There is limited scope for personal or professional growth, and the leadership seems to lack clear vision, operating more like a small, owner-driven shop. If you are a software engineer, I would *strongly recommend* not applying here and steering clear of this company. Hope this helps!

Thanks for the feedback. We genuinely look at every review, even the tough ones. Here's the thing about culture fit: it matters. We've built teams across three countries by being upfront about who we are and what we're looking for. When alignment isn't there, recognizing it early is better for everyone. That's why we actually exceed contractual notice requirements—often by 3x—to support transitions properly. Our project-based model isn't for everyone, and we're clear about that from day one. But for engineers who thrive on varied, high-impact technical challenges, it creates real growth opportunities. Different projects, different domains, different technical problems to solve. We're proud of what we've built and the team that builds it. If you're considering SPAN, reach out directly. We'll be straight with you about whether our environment matches what you're after.
