Pros

You can get a good idea of what it is like to work at a non-profit/think tank and learn about city governance and logistics at the local level. Free admission to public forums, which are quite interesting to attend to, along with their non-profit events and free subscription to the Urbanist is a plus. Fun to bond with other FDA interns who share a common career interest.

Cons

There is not much work assigned to FDAs except for logistical and administrative work. Most of the work is manual and the workload itself is minimal too. There are some interesting projects you can contribute to but don't come through often.
