Pros

Guaranteed, steady work with lots of opportunity for overtime, mostly mandatory Some of the people here are good people.

Cons

Some of the worst management ever encountered. Micromanaged by HR and a million upper management. Their group is a click and if you don't fit that's it. People who have been there for a long time place other people in positions of power and groom them and protect them so that they don't get in trouble. The lead of the area believes that since they had put in time in the company they knew everything they should be known about it and would get angry or upset when you mentioned that there was a different way to do that. More often than not a faster more efficient way that was more accurate and safer. There had two different instances where the lead put a part in the machine handed it off to someone and it threw the part of the machine. Other operators had to hit the emergency stop for both of the other people working in the area more than one occasion. The lead took 5 hours to make a bad part in front of you and then watch you make 18 of those parts and average two and a half hours a piece, seeing them to accurate completion and not say anything to you about it. The kind of management that would watch you take .002 (that's two thousands, half the width of a human hair) off of 200 parts in a row and tell you you got lucky. Statistically impossible. When you try to explain that the tools have names, you get told that we call them by the color of the sandpaper that's on them. Had also received hateful backlash for reading the instructions on the side of the machine about how to not change speeds when the machine was not on, which is how the lead was doing it. When you mention that you could show them how to do something with less steps with more efficiency and then prove that you can do it in half the time they look at you and say "well good for you". This is the person being groomed for the new continuous improvement position. The kind of person who would dump a whole bunch of buckets of used bolts out on a workbench and spend a week sorting them by color to put them back in their bins. We all know why we do not like people on meth work with us in a shop because it's dangerous. While you may not do meth in the morning, having three large cans of Red Bull before 10:00 a.m. gives you the same effect and makes you just as dangerous to work around. Spaced out , jumpy, anxious, irritable and just an unsafe to work around. The pay here is also below par. They try to make up for it with their employee stock program but that just a little carrot on a really long stick. They will tell you one thing and do another. was told during orientation I would get a $250 bonus if I made my 90 days without being late or missing. After serval conversations where I was told I wasn't going to get one, I finally did receive an extra $75 on my paycheck after taxes and getting half the promised amount. Bottom line is, worked here six months hoping to have found a long term spot and have never been so disappointed in a company.

Pros

Variety of projects and some amazing customers

If doing complex installations for difficult customers with unsupportive management at the office sounds appealing, then go for it.
