Pros

Lots of change, for the better - new partnerships, new leadership Fresh management and potential movement Conservative, but lot's going on behind the scenes in research and next-generation power. Truly customer focused. I have only been employed a short time, but this is the best place I have ever worked. As a millennial, there is a ton to learn at the company, plenty of training offered and I feel like my opinion matters. My boss is fantastic, does his best to keep us in the loop and doing longer-term work that matters. I have worked for some terrible employers and I am constantly telling people who have only worked at SRP that they don't know how good they have it. Benefits are excellent, coworkers are gems and the work is fascinating.

Cons

Contractor vs. full-time mentality, understandably contractors are very negative. Lots of red tape, but in a way that weeds out reactive projects Lots of people doing jobs in ways they should have upgraded 15 years ago - this is changing! Lots of talent waiting for their leaders to retire. Gen X and millennials are going to be competing for the same job very soon.

Pros

SRP gave me stability, experience, and the chance to build real skills. I had positive experiences there, and I’m grateful for parts of it. But I’m also realizing that the environment doesn’t always operate from a positive or growth-minded place, and I have to be honest about what that has cost me

Cons

The con is not that SRP is a bad place. The con is that it can give you stability and experience, but not always a clear or fair feeling of movement. You can give a lot, build a lot, and still feel like you’re waiting for someone to finally see it
