Pros

Opportunity to learn a lot (on your own), no one will teach you.

Cons

small company (less than 100 employees) that depends (heavily, or exclusively) on Government (Federal) contracts. If the Contract gets cut, or something runs afoul with the contract, you will be laid off with no more than a 2 week salary. Since the company is small if you don't get along with the key people there, you will be on the list to get laid off, regardless of your talents. This is the truth, not an overstatement.

Pros

Some of my co workers were nice and watched out for me

Cons

Just about everything else. Deadlines from upper management were unrealistic at best. Some of the people who have been there longer don't contribute much and can't use anything modern which results in extra effort from new hires. Felt like the in between managers were overworked and constantly having to fight each other which means asking for help or trying to talk about something just never happens.
