Pros

Absolutely NONE!! (Seriously, I mean it)

Cons

The Company was sold by Saint Gobain in December 2022, and several months later, just under a hundred staff were put on redundancy, despite being assured there would be no cuts when we all TUPE’d across! What was interesting here was how they picked all the newbies to the firm in this redundancy, and not some of the more established managers, who surely weee more responsible for the years of poor sales. There was one team in Digital which went from a team of 12 staff with 3 Managers, down to a team of 6 staff, STILL with 3 Managers! By the summer of 2023, another hundred staff were given “without prejudice” letters to leave the firm! All the while, Stark had told us how great they had been in Germany, by “tripling profits.” Turns out that was a LIE - as all the did was buy more branches, which would naturally increase sales wouldn’t it, so not really a massive turnaround. I worked in the digital team and Management are sneaky and at worse- incompetent. Many have been there for 4+ years and we all struggled to see their output. Yet they picked a load of new staff to leave the firm ?! Nothing the digital management team do, seems to actually improve life for the real value add people - the branch staff. So trust me on this - AVOID this vipers den

Pros

Nice office. Good canteen. Central location

Cons

Hyper focused on earning money on a short term rather than the longer focus, why employees are treated as disposable the second they deem them unprofitable. Lots of talk about decency and loyalty, but this is only a one-way street. Very in-humane conditions as soon as earnings decline, even a little bit, which it sometimes does being a retail business with the building industry, as this industry is highly affected by the economic fluctuations.
