Pros

A pro would be that often, the team you work with on a day to day basis are welcoming and supportive

Cons

Upper management at the president and vice president level make questionable decisions with regards to retention of staff. Employee performance does not matter. Experience does not matter. Contributions and critical work pertaining to daily responsibilities and company project initiatives does not matter. Department presidents favour certain people and groups within the department, sometimes themselves not having sufficient experience of the department. Various decision making upper management personalities are known to have their ‘favourites’ resulting in staff being disrespected and feeling demeaned. Incredible amount of disappointment in this company, who is somehow a best managed company with apparent recognition of having an admired corporate culture, and values having a diverse workforce.

Pros

Good quality products. Dedicated individual contributors, intelligent colleagues.

Cons

Living in a bubble. They still think they are in the 90s. The thinking is painstakingly slow. Senior management including VPs and senior VPs are extremely inbred in their thinking. They are all perfectly aligned in completely wrong direction. They do the bare minimum and some cannot even hold a decent intellectual conversation. There is a ton of favoritism and only yes men get promoted so everyone is ‘aligned’. If you want to do mundane level thinking and kill your creativity and innovative spirit join this company. It has gotten worse in the last few years. Those currently there are dying to leave but just hanging by the last thread just because the current market is so tight that there is nowhere to go. The senior execs are there for 15-20 years no because they are loyal but because they know they cannot find any other employer who would tolerate their slow thinking.
