Terribly mismanaged company, Management Mistreats Employees, Don't Work here - Management Safari Programs Employee Review

Pros

The product line is amazing and fun to work with. The co-workers made this company tolerable to work for. The most profitable times and the most efficient times were when the CEOs (husband and wife tandem) were on extended vacations (which happens far too often) and left the day-to-day to the staff. Then, and only then, would the company start to run efficiently. Sadly, it would reverse course once they both returned to their "jobs"

Cons

- An incompetent and borderline unethical Human Resources Department that hires non-human resource professionals to simply interview and/or discuss CEO's issues with employees. Filing a complaint, an actual complaint goes nowhere UNLESS the CEO's (husband and wife) have a dislike of the employee in question. - Underpaid and Overworked - Safari demands 1,000% of your time and hard work, weekends and staying late but fails to provide any fair pay to do so. I am sure their hourly employees could say something about their stance on "overtime" - Executive Management has no understanding in how to effectively manage a team, nor a company. They insult employee's intelligence, make poor business decisions with no "big picture" vision and do nothing that would exemplify leadership or acumen. In case this sounds like sour grapes: their turnover speaks volumes. Their pay grades (especially in regards to commissions for sales reps) are another example. If you're looking for a short term job until you find something better, then a 8-10 week stay at Safari could be an option. But even in that limited scenario you will find the true culture of the Safari work environment demeaning, disorganized and frustrating which is sad because the toys are amazing. ****Just be fully aware that any and ALL positive reviews are definitely being written by the CEO or by whomever his "Media" head is at this time. I am thoroughly thrilled to hear they have finally been held accountable for wrongful termination(s). I am sure there are far more former employees who could consider doing the same, successfully
