Pros

Safelite has decent benefits and has the great opportunity of a take home vehicle so you don’t even spend money on gas to go to work.

Cons

A huge part of the compensation package is the bonus plan. The way the company has the bonus plan set up allows great technicians to be disqualified from bonus pay because of situations that are beyond control of the technicians. Being disqualified from bonus pay strips hundreds of dollars per week away from a technician and therefore makes the pay insulting for what the job entails. Also when a dispatcher doesn’t pay attention to job locations sometimes you end up working a 12-14 hour day - spending most of the day in the vehicle driving around to meet with unhappy customers. The HR department is impossible to deal with. If you have to call them you can plan on sitting on hold for almost an hour. When you do talk to someone if they tell you they are going to call you back, know that they are lying to you.

Pros

The fact that they will teach you and train you to install Auto Glass? Cannot answer this truthfully

Cons

I've applied twice to the tech training position. The first time I thought that I may have made an error? The Yellow Brick Rd location had adds for 18 positions available. I applied again fixing what I thought the issue to be. I was again sent an email that they were not moving to the next step with me. This makes ZERO sense. I was just recently a slot tech out of Horseshoe. I also was a tech for a company that handed a few interior pieces for Amtrak.
