Toxic, bullying, fault-finding culture within management - Specialist Caseworker Safer London Employee Review

Pros

The actual work with young people. The frontline practitioners.

Cons

Managers and SLT especially cultivate a toxic environment where frontline practitioners are actually scared of doing their work for fear of being reprimanded. Practitioners start doubting their abilities due to management constantly trying to find fault in their work as opposed to praise their achievements. This is especially baffling considering the emotional toll the work has on practitioners as well the so-called trauma-informed approach the organisation pretends to have. Practitioners are passionate people who care about their young people yet their life is made miserable and difficult by management and SLT. Bullies are allowed to stay in the organisation and it seems known to everyone yet nothing is done to address the situation. The turnover is incredibly high which is very telling and they will likely use the excuse of being a charity to explain it.

Pros

Four day working week at full pay.

Cons

In my opinion, very clicky and not inclusive. SLT appear to have favourites. Not an inclusive environment and unwelcoming for new starters. I think they place more emphasis depending on the area of the business you work. Constantly requesting for employee feedback but they fail to address high admin levels, stressful working environments where they constantly ask employees to do more and never show recognition. Big tasks placed on staff with no support or resources - no recogntion particularly from the SLT. Constant changing of direction with no clear prioritisation. Would not recommend as an employer.
