Pros

Has so much potential as a brand to authentically foster inside a true culture of empowerment that truthfully matches the vision of the founder and owner.

Cons

The corporate team is one of the worst I have seen in communicating and truly does not authentically live the values that the founder/owner preaches when out in public. On the operations side, corporate runs the brand like a start up, ops and everything constantly disorganized or unnecessary fire drills. They also do not respect their property managers and directors, especially those of color. The corporate team needs to be shaken up badly and because of them, the brand has ridiculous turnover. Also at the corporate level, it is not diverse as it should be and this has been in question many of times. You can’t preach diversity and the importance of representation and not have any on the team. I would not recommend working here until changes are made at the corporate level to refresh leadership.

Pros

Really felt like family working for Salamander, and the financial compensation is definitely worthwhile.

Cons

There will be slow seasons and busy seasons, but that is quite common for any career in hospitality.

Pros

Bell/Valet is a good summer job for students as you get to meet lots guests which can also be good for networking.

Cons

Management could use some work and you are asked to do lots of other little things than just move luggage and valet the cars.
