Pros

Well, it's a job, and it will get you by temporarily.

Cons

You can't work overtime without explicit permission from upper management, but you won't get anything done if you work the 45 hours a week they expect you to. You'll never get planoguides done on time because they will never let you have enough employees for there to be both consistent customer service and also someone to work on the shelf resets. Anything you do manage to accomplish will be because your job security has been threatened enough for you to know that the only way you will stay afloat is by working an extra unpaid 40 hours. And then inventory will happen and you'll probably get fired anyway because people are stealing from under your nose left and right because you're the only person on the floor for several hours because you can't schedule people for more than the total hours they let you have weekly. Which fluctuates very often based on your sales. Oh, and idk what the pay rate is this year but I was only making 12.50 and hour and going gray in my 20s.

Pros

Trying new products Assisting customers with product recommendations Commission on certain items

Cons

The daily revenue quota was at times very unrealistic and unattainable. A lot of pressure was put on our team to sell x/dollars per day but sometimes it just wasn't realistic (bad weather, lots of returns some days).

Pros

The people I worked with were always really cool and it was honestly a very easy job.

Cons

Upper level management was too uptight about certain goals that were unrealistic for beauty advisors, but there was never any big repercussions. Too little pay for the amount of work I did.
