Pros

You will get good benefits and a steady small paycheck. The training you receive from EHS, Quality and safety is real good. Very large budget to buy whatever is needed to keep the machines running.

Cons

Upper management like Presidents and plant managers care nothing about you, your very small raise or any of your concerns. The hardest part is sitting back and watching the always changing management make the same mistakes over and over. Very political place! Watch what you say because the plant managers are very vindictive. What goes on behind closed doors is totally different than what is presented to production staff.

Pros

Work–life balance is actually respected. Most managers honor boundaries, don’t expect late-night firefighting as the norm, and are fine with you taking time off when you need it. Solid parental leave. The parental leave policy is extremely generous compared to a lot of places in the industry, and leadership is generally supportive of people actually using it. Interesting, challenging work. Plenty of chances to solve real problems, not just busywork. If you’re proactive, you can own projects and grow your skill set. Good benefits package. Healthcare, 401(k), and time off are competitive, and HR does a decent job of making the options clear. Smart coworkers who care. A lot of sharp people who genuinely want to do the right thing for customers and the business, which makes collaboration worthwhile when it works.

Cons

Communication needs improvement. Priorities and decisions don’t always flow clearly from leadership to the teams doing the work, which leads to confusion and rework. Too many silos. Teams tend to operate in their own lane, and cross-functional collaboration can be painful. Information gets stuck instead of shared.
