Pros

--Ability to acquire skills that can lead to career growth --Decent 401K match

Cons

--Exempt (salaried) at just 32 scheduled weekly hours, in role seeing patients in clinic settings, leading to weekly unpaid hours, with no ability to transition to hourly status. --Great disparity in workloads and levels of responsibiliy/liability assigned to employees in same job code and pay scale, with some employees allowed to avoid tasks with more liability, and others, not. --Unchanged pay scale for >10 years --Manager with no working background in subject matter and knowledge deficit of workflow (work involves training patients on use of devices delivering high-risk medication); lack of applicable experience with devices leads to management being unable to properly assess or mitigate risk. --Job code requiring specialty certification for continued employment with no way to be compensated for hours spent taking certification exam

Pros

There are no pros to working at Sunset Drive

Cons

High turn over rate for a reason. The management is horrendous above all else. Forces CNAs to work severely understaffed, sometimes alone to a 40 patient unit. They treat their employees like they are disposable and show absolutely zero appreciation unless you fall under their favoritism. Promote horrible employees whilst treating the good ones horribly. They expect you to throw your personal life away for the job. Will pick employees up during snow storms but expect them to find their own rides home in an attempt to trap them there to work a double shift when other staff inevitably don’t show up at shift change. They also offer hot meals for those who will stay overnight during predicted snow storms but those hot meals end up being a bag of goldfish and some gram crackers. They threaten to report evening employees for abandonment if they don’t work a double when overnights don’t show up at shift change. The work environment is borderline abusive and is extremely detrimental to a persons mental health. Management also has a tendency to sweep illegal doings under the rug and refuse to cooperate with police when it involves cases pertaining to their residents. Best advice I can give is to stay as far away from this place as possible. They do not care about you.
