Pros

- Good benefits, you can charge every hour you work, depending on the office there are good growth opportunities. - Willing to negotiate salary. - Structured qualification system. - Supports PE licensing. - Mentoring program (Experience dependent on mentor, mine was my manager located at a different office)

Cons

- Depending on the office weak leadership (e.g. faulting individual contributors, misuse of resources, unrealistic expectations, etc.). - Insincere on the offer letter (e.g. my offer letter stated the bonus I was going to be paid out, when the time came, it was prorated to my time on the role). Our salary negotiations were explicitly based of the numbers provided. - Position was posted as in office but was expected to travel daily to the power plants and was told that travel time could not be charged to the client since it was not included in the contract (e.g. daily travel of 3 to 7 hours driving to the to plants supported). - Leadership would always remind me of what I am being paid, which at the moment was 130k with a move incentive (e.g. This is while supporting project implementation onsite, developing test plans, developing Project IMS, being the task manager, being the project engineer, being the resource, developing proposals and statements of work, for a total of 6 projects in my very short tenure.). With the amount of time spent at work I had to pay for rent, day care, and afterschool. Because of all the travel my car started breaking down. The 130k I was being reminded of was not enough. - I want to reiterate that this experience was very specific to the office I supported and does not reflect the experience other peers had at other sites, which was much more positive and provide ratings of 5 starts or above.

Pros

Decent pay and interesting projects that allow for good professional development.

Cons

Absolutely horrendous work-life balance. I have been at the company for almost 20 years and their lack of support and flexibility for parents is incredibly disappointing. Going to the office requirements are unrealistic with little kids, and some of the newly minted managers are on a power trip, micromanaging high performers and quoting pto policies if you need to run 30min errands midday.
