Pros
Unionized - So you won't be let go without cause. Good drug/dental coverage's. Decent pension - Work for your adult life and you will continue to be paid around what you earned while working. Fairly regular schedule once you achieve a few years seniority. Paycheque is paid weekly. There are fairly good investment options for RRSP and TFSA funds to be automatically withdrawn from paycheque. If you are willing to move, there are many positions available internally in the company. And management is pretty much exclusively hired from internal staff.
Cons
Schedule is extremely irregular and usually not full time when you are newly hired, expect a lot of closing shifts and schedule changes throughout the weeks. The regular pay scale tops out at ~$20/hr.
