Pros
The company used to focus on the team, with a firm belief in internal promotion. When I first started with the company there were 6 month and annual reviews that were at least at the cost of living. Teams tend to consist of long-term team members, often with people staying with the company for 5 years or more. Full-time team members are eligible for paid vacation, sick time, excellent and affordable health care, and a 401k. Part-time team members also receive some paid vacation and sick time. Team member discounts are fantastic too!
Cons
In the last 3 to 4 years the company has lost its focus on the team , as evidenced by the change in the review structure and stopping regular surveys of the team to determine areas of improvement. Savers bought another company and instituted a number of changes based on that company's culture, which were not necessarily to the benefit of the team. Upper management makes decisions regarding lower managements career path that are not in line with either the strengths of the person in question or their goals. They also promote from within, which allows them can underpay management by as much as 10k, depending on the market and level of experience.
