Pros

From what it seems there is good deal experience for all analysts at all levels, nice office, nice to work in the consumer/reatail industry.

Cons

Poor management - even thought the founders may have been good bankers... they maintain a poor management style on the company. Very cheep company - salary promotions and bonuses are often put on the back burner due to deal volume.

Pros

Sawaya Partners is a great place for Investment Banking. The senior leadership is incredible, the positive and collaborative culture among juniors is not easily found in Banking, and the learning opportunities are great. As a junior, you have the ability to work directly with senior colleagues, handling proper responsibilities from early on. In addition, senior leadership is highly invested in the junior team members' career trajectories, providing a path for growth to every employee. This positive culture trickles down from the top. Fuad goes out of his way to ensure that the junior team is always well taken care of, engaged in projects, and provided with the right training. They recently got acquired by Canaccord Genuity, which has allowed for a bigger platform and more opportunities for the junior team to gain experience across sectors, products, and geographies.

Cons

Honestly, none that I can think of. It's a great place to work at.

Pros

Sawaya Partners is an elite M&A boutique focused on the Consumer industry. Sawaya is the quintessential elite boutique in that junior bankers are given responsibility (day to day interaction with the client’s senior management, point of first contact with buyers), the opportunity to be exposed to the entire M&A process (highly involved in all aspects of the deal), as well as frequent guidance from senior bankers. There is also a strong mentorship program in place to augment the learning experience. What is most notably different (and positive) from other investment banks is the strong emphasis on work-life balance. Sawaya implements the practice of protected weekends. The Company also recently relocated their offices to a modern space that includes an open floor plan (standing desks), numerous collaboration spaces, a café, a games room and even a racing simulator. Sawaya is also very fitness-focused and provides employees with training and sponsorship to participate in the NYC triathlon (amongst other corporate events).

Cons

Typical to any investment bank, there will be weekend work as well as late nights (occasional).
