It is the public school system so it comes with all the benefits that you would get anywhere else, too.

There is an unproven but existing preferential treatment in hiring employees. This school district often breaks the rules about promotions, hiring and assigning positions. If you are “blacklisted” you can wait as long as 20 years and would not get a position or a continuing contract. Positions are given based on who you know not on merit or experience. Once you are hired with a temporary contract you will have to be ready for the treatment that is waiting for you. You will be a number in the system, only recognized if you slipped and made an error. There is no appreciation for your work, so make sure that you are the kind of person who can be satisfied without praise because it is guaranteed you will not get it.

Small interconnected community with lots of things to do outdoors. The school is small and it's easy to become acquainted with all your colleagues and the students.

Very remote with limited access to most essentials and long cold winters. It's hard maintaining a private live because the community is so small, and if you're not an outdoorsy person there's not much to do.
