Pros
The best thing about Schroders is the people. Unfortunately it is these people that are undervalued and treated appallingly as a result of shocking business decisions from the top.
Cons
I have never seen a company more mismanaged than Schroders. A matter of months ago, Horsham was reassured that the hub is the place to be. It is 'safe' from the changes coming. Months later, look at it now. Cutting 40%, most of which to India. This 'change' in strategy came as a huge shock, no doubt, down to the horrendous communication from the sly senior management team. Placing huge number of staff under 'at risk of redundancy in April-June 2026, is incredibly sly. They are banking on valuable staff leaving with this looming threat of redundancy over their heads. When a company thinks of every colleague as a number, as opposed to a valuable resource, they are in deep trouble. Certain teams in Horsham are being completed gutted and outsourced to UST. Obviously lots of people are leaving now and realise its time to get off the sinking ship. The genius that came up with this plan clearly hasn't thought through or simply doesn't care about the transition to UST. They are using contractors to implement a plan. Contractors that are absolutely robbing a living and have worked at Schroders for years and years and years. Perhaps this would've been a great place to start this swinging cost cutting exercise. So people are at risk of redundancy, hitting around April to June 2026. The process of hiring staff in India is only going ahead now... they are not expected to start until February. Giving a very short amount of time to hand over this work. Further evidence of the incompetence of this company is HR. Inconsistently applying their policies highlights at best incompetence and at worst discrimination. Training costs were applied to me and taken off m final salary. Ordinarily, that is fine, it is in the contract. When you know they don't apply it to everyone in the same situation, it becomes completely unacceptable. When I joined this company, it had a fantastic reputation and was a very enjoyable place to work. The Horsham campus is great. The story now is very different. Senior management are incompetent, dysfunctional and delusional. You do not want to work here. It is a sinking ship and I would be very surprised if further 'efficiencies' are not sought in 2026.
