Pros

-Taking on probably the best application of the 21st century: brain computer interfaces (BCIs): -Understand, mitigate and cure debilitating central / peripheral nervous system diseases / disorders -Accelerate understanding of who we are as humans (in part helped by Science's SciFi ecosystem for neuroscientists (not just another med device company)) -Ensure a bright future for humanity / biological intelligence (e.g. improve memory/processing; accelerate learning rate, etc.) -Already completed clinical trials; on the verge of selling life changing vision prosthesis device in Europe (PRIMA) (this is just the begining). -Virtually unlimited skill growth ceiling (breadth of knowledge required across IC Design/RF/EE/CS/ME/CE/Material Science/Neuroscience is vast). -Not afraid to challenge the status quo. -Modern internal company tooling (HR/Ops/lab information management software, in-house microfab, advanced electronics assembly, test inspection, etc). -Incredibly kind and cracked coworkers. -Expectation is to go above and beyond ("mistakes are expected, but make them new and interesting").

Cons

-As is the case with young companies, some direction changes during early years were a bit jarring (albeit long term goals have always been the same).

Pros

- Great Views - Pet friendly - Food Catering and late night food delivery - Great smart , collaborative hardworking people to work with (mostly). - You will be pushed to your limits and learn more than you could ever learn in a short period of time. At some point this becomes unsustainable and the ROI is low, at that point take the skills and experience somewhere else.

Cons

- Yes, all of the negative reviews are true and probably underplayed. - HR does go around asking people to leave good reviews in here. - Working nights, weekends, long hours is the norm. - Not family friendly. If you've got children this probably won't work for you, if you are young and motivated this is perfect. - It doesn't matter how hard you work or how many hours you put in, you can be fired without a notice any day, depending on the CEOs mood. - The CEO believes he knows more about software/hardware than the experts in the teams but everyone is afraid to speak up. His decisions and understanding of these domains are questionable. - A lot of noise but little signal. You are always sprinting for the next milestone like its the end of the world, unfortunately the failure rate pretty much takes over any meaningful progress. You can spend 3 months building a product and by the end of month 3 someone decides to trash it all. - A lot of senseless yelling from upper management. - Favoritism across the board.
