Pros

- For the most part really great coworkers - there are some really great people that work here and support each other - Good benefits - Heath/Dental insurance was 100% covered

Cons

- Poor work life balance - you will be expected to work all hours and be on call even on the weekend. The work/assignments are treated like life or death when it's just the entertainment industry. - Understaffed & Overworked - the teams that are the backbone of the company are overworked and understaffed. VPs keep getting hired when the help is needed on the lower levels. Upper management never say no to new clients or work, and expect you to continue to push out projects faster and faster. - Pay discrepancies/pay gaps/low salaries - lower level employees get paid the absolute least they can get away with, while upper management get HUGE paychecks. What's worse is that the teams that work the most, are paid the least. I also knew of pay discrepancies within the same role, but employees were different genders (i.e. male got paid more, surprise surprise). -Lack of structure - One position can take on many roles, some projects cross over teams and you are expected to do their work for them. There was also no written processes in place meaning trainings were all verbal and relied on the memory/expertise from current employees, which is fine until upper management challenges your knowledge or asks why you're taking so long on a task because they themselves don't know how to do it :) -Lack of transparency - the job I interviewed for and the job I actually ended up with were different. There were a lot of empty promises and claims for improvement that were never met over the course of the 4 years I was there. -Favoritism - those that are friends with the CEO get more opportunities and special treatment. Some of these employees were hired simply for the fact that they knew the CEO and not based on experience or industry knowledge. -Toxic culture - besides overworking and poor work-life balance, I also witnessed verbal harassment and extreme unprofessionalism. Screaming matches or instances of cursing employees out were not unheard of. I know of managers who talked down to their employees and gaslit them. Because of this, those teams have a high turnover rate.

Pros

Projects are usually tied to film, TV, streaming, or media, so the work is more interesting than in a standard research job. The team is smart, and I’ve learned a lot from my colleagues about entertainment research tools, audience testing, and how clients use the results. The benefits are good, with health insurance and a 401(k), and there are some fun perks, like early screenings.

Cons

It can be stressful and really fast-paced around deadlines.
