Pros
If you invest in your scribe education, the classes are very informative and a great resource throughout your medical career. You also have invaluable time with physicians to build a network and receive input from them on their medical career journey.
Cons
ScribeAmerica short-changes its employees. They used to have merit-based raises which they took away after covid. Scribes are paid minimum wage, and ambassadors only receive a small premium when they are training. Their interview and hiring process also does not siphon out candidates who simply put are not suited for the job. I cannot tell you how many trainees came in and had clearly mistreated the system to get the job, and were unable to live up to their testing scores. These problems easily could have been addressed through another round of interviews. Suggestions were sent up from veteran scribes on my team several times and they were dismissed without consideration.
