Liked it at the time but wouldn't go back - Manager Scrivens Opticians Employee Review

My manager and team were very hard working. Customers loved us. Optometrist and audiologist very good to customers and easy to work with. Hours were okay. Working this job made my current job seem easy by comparison and I appreciate being paid well by my current employer.

Sent to cover branches far from home on short notice. Yet when you need another staff member or cover area manager simply cannot do it. Area and regional management very unhelpful. Quick to turn and unappreciative of good staff - hence high staff turnover over. People came and left constantly over the year I was there. Stressful environment. Very low pay. High targets which you get guilted for not meeting. But if you meet them they get put up even higher so you’re punished either way. This hurts morale as it’s easier to only slightly surpass targets and save the stress.

None as you were treated awfully

Poor management, no respect for staff, staff ordered to cover at other branches at the drop of a hat yet nobody came to help when needed. Unrealistic targets & impossible tasks. Just money driven didn’t care about customers anymore.
