Never recommend anyone to work there - Technician Seanic Ocean Systems Employee Review

Small company with a lot of interaction and relationship-building among coworkers. Fast-paced project turnover. Ability to see a design from start to finish and be a part of the testing process.

Not really any negatives to say.

This is a typical oil field technician job it consists of very long hours and lots of travel. The company does pay well and has good health benefits. They are always hiring and they do promote from within, a good portion of the office staff are former technicians.

Very poor management of the shop and its employees. The management style is "aggressive" to put it mildly and this results in quite a lot of employee turn over. They operate on a very tight budget and there are often few resources available for the shop to operate on a day to day basis. The technicians constantly have to provide their own resources and equipment to get company work done. They have a mandatory 6 month probation period for new employees in which you are restricted to shop work only and shop wages are significantly less than offshore wages. In my experience most new hires didn't make it past this probation stage. Contrary to what is advertised as an "offshore position" there are very few actual offshore jobs and these are jealously guarded by a very small group of senior techs. The vast majority of the techs will never leave the shop.(see above comment on wages)
